Montreal Video Game Symphony
September 29th - Théâtre Maisonneuve
Orchestre métropolitain
A Montreal Video Game Concert
The Montreal Video Game Symphony is a multimedia event that combines the power of the symphony orchestra with the immersive and interactive world of gaming. In order to produce a large-scale event that reflects the vitality of Montreal’s video game industry, music from video games developed in Montreal will be performed for a large audience by the Orchestre Métropolitain and conductor Dina Gilbert. The event will take place on November 12th 2017, as part of the City of Montreal’s 375th anniversary and during the period of the Montreal International Game Summit 2017.

The concert will be a high-octane multimedia event. In synchronization with the orchestra, there will be big-screen projections of video game sequences. At certain moments, to add an interactive dimension to the concert, someone from the audience will be invited to come play a game live on stage. Their performance will be projected on the big screen and will be accompanied simultaneously by the orchestra.

The Montreal Video Game Symphony offers companies with a studio in Montreal the opportunity to take part in a large-scale multimedia event, unique in its genre. The Montreal Video Game Symphony was initiated and created by composer Maxime Goulet. The project is developed with the Orchestre Métropolitain, in collaboration with Alliance numérique.
