Expo67 Live
September 18th to 30th - Esplanade de la Place des Arts
In 1967, an island emerged from the bed of the river. This, in turn, sparked an event that changed our vision of humankind and the world, whose transformative power would stay our collective memory forever: it was called Expo 67.

From September 18 to 30, 2017, Man and His World will move from the St. Lawrence River to downtown Montréal, taking shape in a unique and innovative project: Expo 67 Live. The Place des Arts esplanade will become a grandiose cinematographic island where screenings of archival treasures and soundtracks will immerse spectators in the scope and effervescence of this iconic event. A veritable trip back in time, Expo 67 Live will thrill visitors with highlights from this “show of the century”, now more ambitious, exuberant and exciting than ever.

True to its reputation for innovation, the NFB is the architect of this major project, the fruit of a partnership with the Society for Montréal’s 375th. Expo 67 Live is produced by the NFB’s René Chénier and is created, written and produced by multidisciplinary artist Karine Lanoie-Brien.
